Research Interests

My approach is interdisciplinary; I am committed to utilizing modern IT methodologies as an aid to synthesizing chemical, physical, and observational data over a range of scales, as a basis for modeling recent and ongoing processes that have contributed to the known geological record. In order to accomplish this, I am integrating remote sensing imagery and integrated GIS database manipulation with traditional (i.e. 'ground truth') geological information. My research goals may briefly be summarized under two headings:

1) Study of collision tectonics (e.g. ophiolite genesis, arc volcanism etc)

2)Study of near-surface alterations caused by fluids (e.g., faults and fractures, hydrocarbon microseepages, etc)
