The Houston Area

The Houston metropolitan area has the largest resident population of geologists and geophysicists in the world. Houston is the unofficial capital of the world's energy business. The Johnson Spacecraft Center, the Lunar Planetary Institute, and world and/or hemispheric headquarters of most of the worlds largest oil and gas exploration and production companies are located in Houston. These and other corporations provide part-time and full-time employment opportunities as well as scholarship support for many of our students.
