About Earth & Atmospheric Sciences

The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Houston offers programs leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Geology or Geophysics, a Bachelor of Arts in Earth Science (B.A.), and a Masters of Arts (M.A.) in Geosciences, Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degrees in Atmospheric Sciences. The Department presently includes 34 full-time tenure track faculty members and research faculty, 2 visiting assistant professor, 3 research associates, and several adjunct professors. Currently, approximately 186 undergraduate students and 138 graduate students are majoring in geology, geophysics or atmospheric sciences.
